Gulf Coast Seafood is a highly respected seafood processor, distributor and retailer on the west coast of Florida.  For years, we have been providing quality products to restaurants, stores, and resorts all over southwest Florida. Our retail location in Gulfport, Florida, is open to the public and stocked with the highest quality seafood available.  

We locally source whole fish and hand cut our fresh grouper, snapper and so much more. Our wild domestic gulf shrimp is one of the finest products around. We also provide premium seafood from around the world, both fresh and frozen.

In 1978 we had a dream of being in the seafood business.  With the help of our parents we started a small retail store in St. Petersburg.  Not long after opening the store, brother Bob moved down from Chicago and the family business had even more support.  

Since John’s parents loved serving the store’s daily customers, he was able to begin running a stone crab boat.  Early mornings found John and his crew along with help from Carol’s Dad out pulling traps by hand, finding a day’s catch.  Dockside unloading, cooking and grading of the stone crabs brought the freshest addition of these claws to the retail store.  Future years brought the retail business into a takeout restaurant.  

Later we found a commercial fishing boat to purchase that allowed us to fish the gulf waters for Grouper and Snapper and all other varieties of fresh gulf fish.  Our next vision was to move into the fresh wholesale business to share the experience and knowledge of all these facets of the seafood industry.  After the sale of the retail store turned restaurant the wholesale seafood business was born.
